Holiday home owners at a tranquil Mid Wales holiday park now have a new address – even though they haven’t moved an inch from their previous location.
That’s because Brightwater Lakes Holiday Park is being returned to its original name of Valley View Holiday Park by the business’s new owners.
North Wales based holiday parks group Thornley Leisure Parks acquired the park in summer this year,
bringing to nine the number of parks in its portfolio.
A major investment in upgrading the grounds and facilities is already underway – and with it, a change back to what everyone agrees is a far more fitting name.
One of the park’s most outstanding features, says Managing director David Thornley, is its stunning location in one of Wales’s most attractive and unspoiled valleys.
The name now celebrates its privileged location near the historic town of Welshpool on the Powys-Shropshire border with Salisbury just 20 miles distant.
Thirty-acre Valley View Holiday Park provides over 150 plots, including around 50 holiday chalets and 100 privately-owned caravan holiday homes.
Guest facilities include a fishing lake, and an indoor swimming pool.
The Thornley family’s business, established over 55 years ago, has achieved a raft of honours for the quality of its parks and the many initiatives taken to protect the natural environment.
In November this year, its Craiglwyd Hall Caravan Park in Clwyd was named as the North Wales Park of the Year in the 2018 Go North Wales Tourism Awards.
Now, says David Thornley, Valley View Holiday Park will soon be boasting similarly high standards as the quality bar is raised even higher for guests and holiday home owners.
Open for 11 months of the year, newly re-christened Valley View is also likely to see the siting of additional luxury holiday homes.
