Park Managers at Maenan Abbey, North Wales

We have so many different characters across our 10 Holiday Parks across Wales, Cheshire & Yorkshire, all of which have a wealth of knowledge and experience, not only about the Parks they work within, but also about the local areas which surround them.

One of our most established parks, Maenen Abbey Caravan Park in North Wales, is a lovely quiet hideaway, but still such a short distance to Conwy and the Northern Coastline. Surrounded by history (it was once a real abbey), Maenan Abbey is a well kept beautifully quiet retreat for those looking for peace and tranquility among the Conwy Valley.

This month we thought we’d introduce Anita and Darren, our new Park Managers at Maenan Abbey and get an insight into what makes them tick..

How long have you worked for Thornley Leisure Parks? A Month

What excites you the most about your new role? Being part of a beautiful park in an outstanding area, getting to know all the owners and prospective new owners.

Where can you most likely be found on park? Out and about on the park  and in the sales office

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Walking our two Manchester Terriers (Stanley and Lulu) exploring the countryside on my horse Xara.  Finding new places to enjoy good food.

What is your best find in the local area so far? Conwy/Llandudno and the fabulous beaches plus the reservoirs and Gwydir Forest.  So many more places to explore.

Why do you enjoy working in the holiday park industry? It is a way of life and not just a job ensuring the park exceeds customers expectations and they have an amazing experience is very rewarding.  Helping customers realise their dream of having their own holiday home to create their memories.

What is your favourite aspect of Maenan Abbey so far? All the staff and seeing how much they all care about the park and the company.  The beautiful grounds and the setting against the mountains.

Do you have a favourite holiday home on park? We have only been here a few days but the ABI Roecliffe is a beautiful van on a lovely pitch.

Do you have any advice to anyone thinking of owning a holiday home? Don’t waste time just do it, nothing is more important than investing in your leisure time.
