With so many wonderful members of our Thornley team working around the clock to give you holiday home happiness, we thought a regular blog on who they are and what makes them tick would be a good read! After all, there’s no one who knows our holiday parks quite like our park managers so who better to ask for local tips and holiday home tricks?! Up next are Liz and Graham Taylor from Maenan Abbey Caravan Park in the Conwy Valley!
Names: Liz and Graham Taylor
Park: Maenan Abbey Caravan Park, Maenan.
How long have you worked for Thornley Leisure?
Twelve and a half years, the longest we have ever been at one place!
What do you most enjoy about your role?
Liz: Meeting new people and socialising with our owners along with the challenges on a daily basis/any issues that arise dealing with the day to day running of the park. For example, your day can be planned and then there’s something to sort out… it’s a very reactive job!
We can most likely be found…
Liz: In the office!
Graham: On the park!
Our favourite things about the park are:
Liz: The location. Everywhere is in striking distance!
Graham: The flora – all of the plants and trees and their colours.
Our best tips for the surrounding area would be:
Liz: There’s so much to do in the area – visit to Bodnant Garden, Llandudno, Betws, the lakes and Snowdonia… People come for a week and have to come back because they didn’t see everything they wanted to! Conwy is fabulous too.
Graham: I would say Bodnant Garden, throughout the year. It changes so much from season to season and has stunning views.
We enjoy Maenan Abbey because:
Liz: Because we get to look after our owners and really get to know them.
My advice to people looking to own a caravan would be:
Graham: Make sure you buy on the right park, once you have bought – sit back, relax and enjoy the lifestyle!
Liz: Location is paramount and the style of park also.
