Early Workdays

I started as a young lad behind the pop counter. We also pulled weeds, starting from caravan one and working our way down.. more of a punishment than work. By the time we reached the last van, it was time to start again at number 1!
Transforming the Park

My first jobs when I started full time here were general maintenance cutting the grass etc. That winter we developed the whole bottom field. Pulled every caravan off. Then re siting after the work was complete. Seeing how different it looked and the improvements made.

Many happy memories have been made at ‘The Beach’ over the last 27 years and the location is something which means that throwing some things in the car for a weekend away is just perfect. You feel like you have been here for weeks on end once you arrive. Nothing is better.
I have been on the Beach site for 68 years. I was one month old when my Gran & Grandad bought their first family caravan at the Beach, which was then known as Brough’s Caravan & Chalet Park. My Mum & Dad were the first to buy a caravan off Thornley Leisure Parks after they bought the Beach.
Clean, lovely landscaping, friendly & helpful staff where nothing is too much trouble, smashing views, quiet, restful, just an absolute gem of place!
Fantastic peaceful holiday just what we were looking for.First time on a Thornley Leisure park and so really impressed. The site was quiet being out of season, but spotlessly clean. The caravan was to a high spec with sea view and hot tub! Staff really friendly.
