A Journey from Childhood Holidays to Park Manager at Dinlle Caravan Park: Tom’s Story.

From family holidays at age of 2 to becoming Park Manager at Dinlle Caravan Park, Tom tells us the story of how Dinas Dinlle has been woven into his life. Take a look into his childhood memories and why families travel year after year to this stunning stretch of North Wales Coastline.

1.When did you first step foot in Dinlle Caravan Park?

I first stepped foot on Dinlle caravan park in 1995 when I was 2 Years old, this was my first holiday on the park with my mum dad and sister. We were visiting my auntie and uncle who still own a holiday home on park. Our family owned a caravan on park between 1999 – 2016.

2. What were your first impressions of the park?

My impressions of the park growing up are all very positive. The park has always been maintained to the highest of standards and there was always lots of activities on park and locally to keep us busy.

3. What adventures did you get up to as a child growing up holidaying at Dinlle?

I was lucky to have been brought up by such loving and caring parents who always encouraged us to try different activities. My father was a keen fisherman so having a boat opened up endless actives for us such as fishing, wakeboarding and sightseeing in inaccessible areas of the north Wales coastline.

We also had kayaks and paddleboards so would often spend endless days at the beach or at local lakes.

 4. How did your family come to stay in the area?

We had a couple of family holidays on the park before my parents decided to purchase their own holiday home in 1999. After a few years they decided to upgrade to a much newer unit. After 17 years we decided there was no place we would rather be, so we purchased a family home here in Dinas Dinlle in 2016. It was where we kept our boat that I met my now wife and we have now purchased our own property together in Dinas Dinlle, to which we share with our beautiful 1-year-old Daughter.

5. How did you become Park Manager at Dinlle Caravan Park?

Family time is the most important aspect of life, my previous job didn’t give me the best work/life balance. I approach the company to see if there was a position for me, I was offered the position of assistant park manager between Dinlle and the newly acquired Morfa lodge to which I was very happy. 3 months later I was offered the Park Manager position to which I’m truly grateful to the Thornley Leisure Parks Family.

6. What does Dinlle offer now for families?

The facilities on park are fantastic for families such as the outdoor heated swimming pool, the gym, the play area and the club house. Dinlle caravan park is the perfect place for children to grow up, meet friends and make special memories. Dinlle caravan park also offers a fantastic base to explore the local area from the beach at the end of the road to the breathtaking landscape of Snowdonia national park.
