Thinking of owning your own holiday home?
There are plenty of things to consider when buying your own holiday home. If you decide to make the commitment, you will want to make sure you do as much research as you can to find the perfect place. We have put together the top things to consider when buying a holiday home to make sure you make the best decision for you.
1. The first things to consider..
Budget
One of the most important things to figure out is what budget you have. When you have a budget in mind, you can realistically see what options are available to you in the best location. Consider there will be maintenance fees and upkeep, not just the initial outlay for the home. Once you have this budget in mind, it’s time to start looking!
Location
Once you have your budget in mind, think about the location. Think about how far you would want to travel to get to your home if you plan on spending long weekends or lots of time there? Make sure you research the area. Finally it’s important to get a feel for what the park is like – why not book a viewing at one of our parks? We have so much to offer, from the beautiful North Wales Coastline to the rolling hills in the Yorkshire Dales. We have nine stunning 5* holiday parks across Wales, Cheshire and North Yorkshire to choose from.
Type of home
Consider what type of holiday home you would like or need – would you prefer a caravan or a lodge, would you like decking so you can enjoy sitting outside? They range in size and layout, and number of bedrooms. Consider if you would need one bathroom or two. Once you have these details ironed out you can look at the style you would like. We have so much choice available from the top UK suppliers.. take a look at what’s currently on sale here.

2. Book a tour of one of our parks and of a holiday home
Once you have checked out our parks, why not book a tour and get a feel for the area? It will give you an opportunity to see what amenities the park has to offer – from a bar, to swimming pool, to a gym. Maybe you love the outdoors and would like to have access to fantastic walks on foot, or you would love somewhere with amazing sea views? Booking a viewing also means you will be able to see your new holiday home in person – and to find out what is included such as decking or appliances.

3. Find out about our buying options
There are several ways in which you can buy a holiday home with us, and it will depend on the park and what options are available. Most people choose to pay in full, use a bank loan or use a finance option. Once you have decided on your dream holiday home we can figure out the best option for you. If you’re looking to finance your caravan we can also help you with that. It’s important not to forget about the ongoing running costs, such as site fees, electricity, rates, etc. We do offer monthly payment plans, which are very popular and not all caravan parks offer this. If finance is something you may be considering we would also be able to advise you on this.
4. How often can you stay in your holiday home throughout the year?
It depends on the resort – most of our parks stay open throughout the year, with a few exceptions that close throughout Winter. Most of our parks allow you to have an extensive season from March until January. All of our holiday parks are non-residential, therefore you can enjoy your home for 10 1/2 months of the year and all throughout the Summer months.
5. Pet-friendly
We know how important your dogs are to you and are a special part of your family. You will be pleased to know that there’s no need for you to leave your dogs at home. As all of our parks are happy to welcome your four-legged friend! So no matter which park you choose there will be plenty for you and all the family to explore, from walks on the beach to countryside trails.
